Day light Saving ends

Winter is making its way to Auckland. I could totally tell this morning when I woke up to come to reception.

When it’s 7am and it’s still dark out there you can be sure that winter is on the move to hit you.

You look out the window and see the drizzle out there and say to yourself “no way!!! I’m going back to bed!!!”  Then, you look again and remember that you are in Auckland, ‘cos in less than 5 minutes the clouds and the drizzle are gone and there is the sun shinning beautifully right on top of your head, nobody gets this weather.

In the meantime, no questions just enjoy what the city has to offer.

My personal favourite will always be Waiheke Island, superb!!!

Just 45 minutes away by ferry and once you get there you don’t want to come back, granted a very nice time.

One of my favourites is the walk from Oneroa to Onetangui beach, take a rest and a delicious break at the Lazy Lounge and ready to keep on exploring the island.

For wine lovers this place is perfect, the whole island has been devoted to the production of wine and olive oil. You can make your own way to the wineries since there is a full bus system in the island or you can let one of the professional tour guides from Fullers to show you around and tell you about the wonders of the Island.

These days there is a lot going on the city; on Tuesday in Mt Eden the Full Moon Fire will take place. A great opportunity to be in touch with the nature and have a good time with the ones you love. It’s totally for free and you can even learn to play the drums and be part of the coolest jam session to celebrate the beauty of the Full Moon.

Also this week in Auckland, we’ll be honoured with the presence of some legendary bands: 80’s Simple Minds will be paying at the Edge Theatre this Tuesday 30th , at this very same venue,  where kiwi legend Crowded House will be presenting their  show this April 10th.

If you don’t feel in the mood for crowds and looking for something fun and simple, these days the World Cinema Showcase is taking place in different cities all over New Zealand, starting in Auckland this 29th to open later in Wellington, Dunedin, and Christchurch bringing the best of the world’s cinema right to you.

Lots of things to do if you are in Auckland these days, tough, really tough, I might go back to bed after all this.
